Description
The Viking harness is designed to be a workhorse. It has been proving itself since 2005; this is the 5th generation. The Viking harness is amazingly comfortable and easy to don and has a uniform fit to allow you to move around freely.
The double-wide, laminated padding design provides unique leg support. It is not made just to look good but to be highly functional and comfortable.
The webbing around the torso uses ergonomically formed laminated padding to prevent chafing. We wear these too, you know.
It has six steel D-rings for climbing ladders, tower positioning, descender attachment, travel restraint back D-ring, and fall arrest.
The square quick link or the C061 carabiner allows it to be fitted with the chest ascender with the sewn-in support strap.
It features three durable XL gear loops.
NOTE: this version has regular adjuster buckles on the legs.
Hook and loop: Pull out loop to park your fall arrest lanyard.
Customizable with different top webbing colour options.
The choice of professionals all around the world.
Extra notice:
For those putting on a harness like this and working in it while on the rope, we suggest you learn how to do it. We often see in photos and videos that the harness isn’t sitting right and hear about it pinching. The trick is only to adjust the harness after you go on the rope. If you walk around, make it look like you know what you’re doing instead of being a slob. However, before you go on rope, loosen the butt straps completely and all straps a bit, especially the chest part. Once you sit in the harness, you should move the leg padding towards your knees. This will help cradle you and take the ventral D-ring straps away from your crotch. After doing this, adjust your chest portion and make it tight enough for the chest ascender to be pulled up efficiently.
Whatever you do, do not, and I repeat, do not stand up on the ground after you make all these adjustments. Because you pulled the chest portion tight, the harness will rise, and this is the problem with getting on the rope while looking like a million dollars. It will end between your legs and be uncomfortable.
Do you want to check if you wore your harness right? There are two things you will notice,
-
It will be comfortable, and remember that you should use a work seat for long periods.
-
If you get back on the ground and cannot stand up straight, you know you did right.
I hope this helps, and if it does, could you talk to your trainer to show them how to do it right? After all, there is a saying: those who can’t do it train. A lot of our friends will be upset now 😉
