Description
The TubWeb escape length is a 15ft long 1″ tubular webbing bar tacked into a loop.
It is often used in the fire service as a utility strap to carry heavy things, and by strapping it, you can lift the heavy item with your body instead of your arms.
It is also used to drag a colleague by wrapping the strap under his or her armpits.
As this strap is rated, it is of course an anchor strap, so for high or low angle operations it can be used to wrap large objects, like big trees, to create a quick anchor point.
But mostly it is given to firefighters to allow them to get out of a building and out of the heat by strapping an object like your axe in the corner of a window, and then to step into the loop. It is often used in places where buildings aren’t high, and by bringing a ladder to the hanging firefighter, he or she can come down safely.
Of course, all these mentioned techniques need to be practiced in a controlled environment. Talk to your training officer before purchasing this strap.
