Description
The TubWeb escape length is a 15ft long 1″ tubular webbing bar tacked into a loop.
It is often used in the fire service as an utility strap to carry things with that are heavy and by strapping it you can lift the heavy item with your body instead of your arms.
It is also used to drag a fallen colleague by wrapping the strap under his or her armpits.
As this strap is rated it is of course an anchor strap so for high or low angle operations it can be used to wrap large object, like big trees to create a quick anchor point.
But mostly it is given to fire fighters to allow them to get out of a building and mostly out of the heat by strapping an object like your axe in the corner of a window and then to step into the loop. It is often used in places where buildings aren’t high and by bringing a ladder to the hanging fire fighter, he or she can come down safely.
Of course, all these mentioned techniques need to be practised in a controlled environment. Talk to your training officer before purchasing this strap.
